Add Aetna to the List of Companies Leaving Connecticut

For every leak Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy tries to plug, his ship seems to spring another.

 

As the Democrat contends with a $5 billion budget deficit, one of his states most iconic employers, Aetna Inc.,announced that its moving its headquarters to New York City. And the company, which has called Hartford home for 164 years, will be taking 250 jobs with it.

Illinois isnt the only state dealing with financial headaches these days. Connecticut, too, is facing big budget problems as major corporations flee the states high taxes and its fiscal future gets murkier by the day. 

 

While Illinois is facing the possibility its credit rating hitting junk status, Connecticut has the distinction of the third-worst ratings in the country behind Illinois and New Jersey
